Stares

Eyes welling with tears

Walking down the halls in fear

Afraid they will smell the terror

She tries hard to disappear

Their stares burning holes into her

Slowly feeling their judgment coming her way

She wants to leave

Their stares have caged her in

Taking off in a sprint

She thinks she is getting away

Why won’t her feet move

They are closing in

Screaming in her head

There is nowhere to turn

Yearning for all of this to disappear

She opens her eyes and finds the light from her reoccurring nightmare
