Bruises

Bruises

Covered in bruises you can’t see

Loneliness fading even the brightest days

Screams drowning out laughter

Just another day trapped in the prison built by your toxicity

Put downs and blows become normalcy

Cried so many tears my eyes can no longer keep up

Lies turn into truths

Truths turn into delusions

I am screaming to escape

No one hears me

These prison walls grow thicker

Freedom feels light years away

Flashbacks are so ingrained

Can’t distinguish between what is reality

Guilt and frustration is all I have left

Unmarketable by society my only hope is enduring lifelong loneliness
